Cove Sailing Club: New Clubhouse Construction Update
As we embark on an exciting chapter in Cove Sailing Club’s long history, we’re thrilled to share that the construction of our new clubhouse is progressing well ahead of schedule! Demolition and excavation have been completed faster than anticipated, and we’re delighted to announce that the foundations for our new home will begin next week.
Though the old clubhouse is no longer standing, the spirit of Cove Sailing Club is stronger than ever. Our regular activities continue, undeterred by the construction. Tuesday and Friday racing events are still in full swing, keeping our sailing community vibrant and active. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or new to the water, we encourage you to come down and join the fun—it's the perfect way to stay connected with the club during this transformative period.
In addition to our sailing events, we’re excited to announce a range of interest groups that are being supported by Fiona Wales. From Bridge to Wild Swimming, Fiona is helping to get these groups off the ground, offering a fantastic opportunity for members to explore new activities and social connections. Whether you’re looking to take a dip in the loch or perfect your card game, there’s something for everyone.
This Saturday, we’re hosting an Open Day, and we’d love for you to join us. It’s a great chance to see what’s happening with the build, meet fellow members, and learn more about our plans for the future. Plus, it’s the perfect time to get involved with the club in any way you can. We will be joined by representatives of the Community Ownership Fund who have provided funding for this event and the clubhouse build who would love to hear more about what Cove Sailing Club means to you .
On Sunday there will be the first meeting of the walking group meeting at 10am at the GP surgery car park. Join the group for more details.
As we move forward, our fundraising efforts continue in earnest. We’re still working to ensure that our new clubhouse is fully equipped and finished to the highest standard. If you’re passionate about helping us achieve this vision, there are many ways to contribute—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word about our cause. You can find a link to donate on the home page.
One crucial area where we need support is in finding a new Treasurer. This role is vital to our continued success, overseeing our financial health and ensuring that we stay on track with our ambitious plans. If you or someone you know has the skills and dedication to take on this rewarding challenge, we’d love to hear from you. Contact secretary@covesailingclub.co.uk for more information.
The future of Cove Sailing Club is bright, and we’re excited to continue this journey together. Stay tuned for more updates as our new clubhouse begins to take shape. In the meantime, let’s keep the momentum going—both on the water and off—by staying involved, supporting our initiatives, and looking forward to the grand opening of our new clubhouse.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
