Exciting Announcement: New Clubhouse Build Update

Dear Members and community

We are thrilled to announce that Kings Group Scotland http://www.kingsgroupscotland.co.uk/ has been appointed as the main contractor for our new clubhouse build. This has been concluded after an open tender process supported by our architects HMA.

Construction is set to begin on-site on the 5th of August.

This marks an exciting time for Cove Sailing Club and all our members. Despite the construction, Fiona Wales, our Engagement and Events officer, will be arranging events and activities to ensure the club remains active and vibrant during this period. New groups including book club, wild swimming and walks will be starting soon.

You can join the Cove Sailing Club whatsapp community through this link for information on new activities.

The contractors have kindly agreed to keep access to the slip open for most of the build, allowing our racing and water activities to continue.

Please note that the car park will be used for the site office and material storage.

We ask all members who are storing their boats to remove them by the 31st of July.

We would like to invite all members and the community to a Final Friday at the current clubhouse on the 2nd of August. Additionally, the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of August will be our moving weekend. On Saturday, we need volunteers to help pack up and move items the club is keeping. On Sunday, the 4th, we will host a 'Garage Sale' from 10 am to 2 pm to sell remaining items and raise funds for the new clubhouse.

In an effort to further raise funds for the new clubhouse, we are excited to announce that the famous Cove Sailing Club bar will be up for silent auction. This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of our club's history while supporting its future. Details on how to place your bids will be shared shortly.

We are also pleased to announce that lifetime member of the club Robbie Devenny has joined Cove Sailing Club trustee's as one of our under 25 Trustee's.

We are also seeking new Trustee's with a specific focus on the Treasurer role but also keen to hear from others who have skills that would support the club going forward. Please contact Alison Robinson on secretary@covesailingclub.co.uk for more information about the role's.

We are beyond thrilled to have secured significant funding from the Community Ownership Fund, Argyll and Bute Council, Loch Long Owners Association and RB Marine as well and numerous contributions from members over the years - but realistically, we know we will need to raise some additional funds to complete the furnishing and fittings. Hence, we are still actively fundraising for the club, and you can donate below.

If there is something specific you would like to contribute to, such as the deck area, kitchen, or bar fit-out, please get in touch with the Secretary - secretary@covesailingclub.co.uk . Donations big and small will be gratefully received and well used.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we are building a brighter future for Cove Sailing Club.
